LSSA members delivered over 7,000 signed petitions to the LSNYC Board calling on LSNYC to offer a fair contract to its workers. In less than two weeks time, the union received over 7,000 signatures of support from our clients, community residents, and people all around the nation who are concerned for the future of Legal Services.
Though union members arrived to find the door to the public board meeting locked, we succeeded in gaining entrance to the board meeting, read a statement, and delivered the inches-thick stack of signatures to Executive Director Raun Rasmussen and his board.
