After a tremendous show of solidarity, and several weeks of record-breaking cold, on February 24th the union members of MFY ratified the tentative agreement reached with management late in the night of February 23rd. We thank everyone for their support.
We won a contract that ensures our clients will be served by experienced staff, that creates a family-friendly workplace, and that respects the experience and dedication of our paralegals and administrative support staff.
The shop was strong and brave and supportive of each other, and it made a huge difference in the final contract offer.
MFY’s union members wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us during this 3+ week strike. Your showing of solidarity lifted our spirits and emboldened us to keep on fighting in glacial weather for the contract we deserved.
It also demonstrated to MFY’s management that their tactics and regressive demands were out of step with what our communities value and what our clients are worthy of. We look forward to fighting alongside you in solidarity when you need us.
